once you have it done, upload it to any uploader like photobucket or even multiply.
get the URL of your banner image.
then paste it on your CSS on this part of the code:
div.owner_nav {
background: url(http://locationofyour image);

pano magiging fixed ung banner?
[Reply]
15. simplyjacy | June 5th, 2008 at 10:28 am
you may use other photo-editing software. photoshop cs2 is just one of the many software that you can use. GIMP is a free software so you might want to download it if you don’t have any other software.
as for making the banner fixed, we do understand that when we talk about banners, it is the top most part of your page right? do you want it to be in a fixed position that even if you scroll down, your banner will still be visible?
look for this code in your CSS and simple add the word fixed:
div.owner_nav {
background: url(http://locationofyour image) fixed;

the banner size would be dependent on your base theme. the height doesn’t matter much. just make sure you have the same width with the other parts of the theme like body and footer.

31. simplyjacy | August 6th, 2008 at 1:27 pm
appropriate size of the banner is dependent on your base theme. the height is not important as long as you have the height on the div.owner_nav adjusted to the same dimension.
the width should be the same as the other parts of the theme like the body. or else you will see misalignment.
to know the appropriate size of the banner, check on the CSS of the theme that you are planning to customize like base theme for example.
[Reply]
32. simplyjacy | August 6th, 2008 at 1:28 pm
this banner image that you have created should be placed on the div.owner_nav portion of the CSS not the body.

hi eve!
i checked your site and the reason why it is repeating and not aligned well is because the the dimension of your banner is not 770×425 like the original banner image.
if you try to download the banner and keep it’s dimension, it will fix the problem.

can this be done with photoscape? coz i’m having a hard time using gimp. it’s not that user-friendly, you know? :)) and can you please post the dimensions for the banner, footer and other stuff.
thank you. thank you.

simplyjacy Reply:
January 7th, 2009 at 5:19 pm
yes. it can be done with any photo-editing software of your choice. with regards to the banner and other page elements, it actually differs depending on the base theme that you are using. to know it, check on the code of your base theme and see the width of each section. the height could be of your choice but make sure you change the values in the CSS later on.

did you follow the tutorial above?
if you have done so, you can then use the image as your banner.
look for this code: div#owner_nav {
background: url(”urlofyourimage”);
